FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Kairu?
Self-referral is generally possible for a consultation. Some insurers require a referral for specialist visits — please check with your insurer. Referral letters and previous results are always helpful.
How do I request an appointment?
Use the appointment request form on the Contact page or reach the clinic by phone. The clinic will confirm your appointment — a request is not a confirmed booking.
Which insurance covers are accepted?
The insurers we work with are listed on the Insurance page. Please confirm cover and any pre-authorisation requirements with your insurer before procedures.
How should I prepare for an endoscopy or colonoscopy?
Preparation differs by procedure. You will receive written instructions at booking. General guidance is on the Procedures & Preparation page.
Will I be sedated?
Sedation is commonly offered for endoscopic procedures. You will need an adult to accompany you home and should not drive for the rest of the day.
Can I send my medical history through the website?
Please don't send detailed medical information through the online form. Bring your history, medicines list and previous results to your consultation.
What should I do in an emergency?
This website is not for emergencies. If you are vomiting blood, passing black or bloody stools, have severe abdominal pain or feel faint, go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
